"The Point Bridge was closed in 1959 and demolished in 1970. The appropriate location to tag would be within Point State Park, roughly 200 feet southeast of the Point's "apex.""
"The zoo has changed so much since 1937 it was hard to tag this one. Even looking at an aerial from Penn Pilot didn't help much."
"That's gotta be Hastings and Reynolds. Take a look at the Balada Tea building on the left and then the same building just beyond the street sign. That's the Point Brugge Café (formerly Senators, formerly The Point Restaurant). "
"This is not Fair Oaks- now Fenimore. It is near the intersection of Edgerton, but the house on the right is still there and was built in 1878. The house on the right, built in 1898 according to Allegheny County records, is 510 Gettysburg Street. The trident design over the porch is still there today and a clone of 508 Gettysburg (not shown in photo), which was built in 1878 and is the second oldest house on the street and one of only two houses on the road prior to its 1894 naming. "
"This very intersection was immortalized in the very year this picture was taken in the movie "Angels in the Outfield." Here is a link- http://my.mail.ru/mail... and if you go to 1:21:56 in the movie you will clearly be able to see the Duquesne Pilsner billboard and how it related to the Grant Street entrance (I presume) of the William Penn Hotel. "
"Where the Parkway is, headed toward the Squirrel Hill Tunnel, used to be a neighborhood, part of Greenfield."
"If this picture was taken in 1962, it was during a resurfacing of the bridge, not the original construction, which was sometime earlier, using wooden planks."
"location guessed by similarity to http://pghbridges.com/..."
"Retagged based on property name markings at Hopkins maps 1906 volume 3 (http://digital.library...). Hope whoever tagged this previously does not mind :-)"
"Used Hopkins maps 1906 volume 3 (http://digital.library...) to find out where this was."
"Sorry I can't get the marker to move. The reservoir was located at the site of the present Cowley Goettmann Park.
"
"I believe this is the intersection of Fountain & Henderson St."
"I can't seem to change the location photo. The pic above is street cars at the South Hills Junction of of Warrington Avenue."
"It's still there, if you want to go see it. :)"
"That should be The Duquense Gardens, demolished 1956. (According to "Pittsburgh Then and Now". http://books.google.co... )"
"I believe this was my great-grandparent's house. D'Angelo."
"I am trying to get some names associated with this picture. "
"my last two are wrong, the google maps isn't working right for this picture!"
"does anyone know what building is at the end of S. Craig at Fifth? in the July 9 1909 picture?"
