Unidentified men, women, and children posed in front of the Knox Milk Station. As with other milk stations, the Knox station, most likely one of the 21 temporary and permanent stations operated by the Health Department. It would have had doctors and nurses on staff who provided milk as well as care and feeding instruction for infants and children.
