Google Maps is a bit off on its estimate. The Kenyon Theatre was at 819 Federal Street. That location is now somewhere along the part of the street that has been converted into a mall, south of North Commons. Map 819 on East Commons and West Commons, and draw a line between them, and where the line crosses the mall should be just about where the Kenyon Theatre was located. Google's camera car didn't travel the mall, so the closest you can get to an accurate street view would be looking down the mall from North Commons.

I should also note that, though Historic Pittsburgh's description of this photo says that the view is west along Erie Street, the view is actually looking east. Odd-numbered lots are on the east sides of north-south streets in Pittsburgh. Also, Federal Street slopes upward toward the north, away from the river, and the slight incline upward can be seen running from right to left in the photo.

My apologies for the second comment. It's wrong. I got turned around looking at the map and Street View. The Kenyon Theatre was indeed on the west side of Federal Street, a bit south of what is now North Commons.
