Workers place the taping machine to prepare for the first cut during installation of the Montrose Rising Main, the pipe through which water from an engine is delivered to an elevated reservoir. The location of this image is near the Montrose Plan in O'Hara Township. The Montrose Pumping Station closed down in 1915 and was replaced immediately by Aspinwall Pumping Station.
