City Officials

20100113 cp 0336
Several city officials, one with a cigar in his mouth, pose at the cut of Montrose Rising Main, as workers continue the project. A rising main is the pipe through which water from an engine is delivered to an elevated reservoir. The location of this image is near the Montrose Plan in O'Hara Township. The Montrose Pumping Station closed down in 1915 and was replaced immediately by Aspinwall Pumping Station.
