Taken at the south side of the California Avenue Bridge during construction. A truck dumping concrete into the bin where it is loaded into sub-marine buckets and place in the foundation by use of a derrick. The California Avenue Bridge was originally, designed to carry streetcars. It was replaced by the City of Pittsburgh in 1928 with a 642 foot span also known as the Robert McAfee Bridge.
