Brilliant Pumping Station

20080917 cp 0047
Old flues in the west boiler room at the Brilliant pumping station. The Brilliant Water Works was built in order to pump water to the Highland Reservoir No. 2, but it was then realized that it had insufficient power to pump water to such a high elevation. This necessitated the construction of the Brilliant Reservoir, but before it was done, better pumps became available which made it unnecessary. It was later turned into Lake Carnegie.
