First United Methodist Church of Pittsburgh

60108016
Intersection of Liberty Avenue and Centre Avenue, looking north to the First United Methodist Church. The church was built on the site following an 1891 fire that destroyed the original church, then known as the Christ Methodist Episcopal Church, which was located in downtown Pittsburgh. The church incorporates the former congregations of the First Methodist Protestant Church, United Lincoln Methodist Church, Asbury Methodist Episcopal Church, and the Oakland Methodist Episcopal Church. The First United Methodist church is the largest Methodist church within the city of Pittsburgh.
