View of the WKTQ AM radio station headquarters on Forbes Avenue. WKTQ, called 13Q for short, began broadcasting on 1320 AM frequency in 1973. The station, run by Buzz Bennett, replaced WJAS. Its goal was to change the industry by catering more to the younger generation. Callers were encouraged to answer, "I listen to the new sound of 13Q!" Its main rival at the time was KQV, another Pittsburgh radio station.
