New Diamond Market

64112892 5
View of the New Diamond Market. This store was the replacement for the older Diamond Market which replaced the Diamond Courthouse in 1852. The Diamond Market -- so named because Market Square was originally called the "Diamond" -- was housed in a three-story Italianate building and offered more than 100 market stalls. The site was a major commerce center of Pittsburgh.
