View of the old Block House at the line of the Fort Pitt excavation. The Blockhouse, built in 1764, is a five-sided, two-story strong house built outside the walls of Fort Pitt. It is all that remains of the fort that protected the Ohio Valley from the British Crown. Located in Point State Park, it stands as the city’s oldest structure.
