View of the Hump District on Tunnel Street, from Webster Avenue to Pentland Street. During the 1900's, downtown Pittsburgh was confined by two rivers and the area known as Grant's Hill. The Hill was leveled three times; planning began in 1909 and the project was completed with the final cut in 1913. It changed the gradient of Grant Street, Diamond Street, and Oliver, Fifth, Sixth, Webster and Wylie Avenues.
