    All gone now, including this portion of Cherry.

    The Church on the right is St. Andrews Methodist Episcopal, only 7 years (or less) earlier, had Oliver been extended through to Grant on the widened “Virgin Alley”

    Within 2 years of this photo, H.C. Frick (who had been assembling plots for years, he owned it all in 1903) had cleared the site east of Cherry, and widened Cherry to 50’ for what would be the William Penn Hotel.

    Also, a nickel to whoever can tell me why the pedestrian bridge in the photo connects the Pittsburgh Public Safety Building on the right to the Nixon Theater on the left? hmmm...
