33rs Street Sewer Explosion

20100113 cp 0152
The effects of the 33rd Street sewer explosion on Sassafras Street do not prevent men from continuing work at the Pittsburgh Brewing Company Bottling House. Located next to the break in the water line, men still manage to load crates on a Pittsburgh Brewing Company wagon. The view is looking west, at the end of the break.

Bottling house sat at the curve in Sassafras, see label on map here: http://images.library.pitt.edu/cgi-...

I believe the current structure was also used for bottling, but is obviously a later structure.
